Artlas Studio
Artlas Studio is a collection of illustrated riddles. The drawings facilitate the answer, and the question at the end of the riddle indicates what type of hint is being provided.
For example, “Can you find it?” will refer to an object that is hidden within the drawing. “What is it?” will indicate that the overall drawing itself is an abstract representation of the answer.
The purpose of Artlas Studio is to incentivize observers to use their faculty of reason when engaging with art. “What is the message of the piece?”, “what is it trying to convey?” - historically, the answer to these questions has been left to the discretion of the observer, subject to their interpretation. Here, we want observers to engage in an active game of discovery with the artist.
About Me
My name is Alexandra Laval. I am the author, illustrator, and photographer of Artlas Studio.
I am French-Argentinian, but grew up in Spain. I have lived in different areas of Europe, Canada, Singapore, and now the US. Throughout my life, I’ve had the luxury of exploring remote places in the world. Some of those experiences are recorded in the Photography section of this website, and all of them have inspired the creation of illustrated riddles.
Currently, I live and work in New York City. Artlas Studio is a personal hobby, meant to promote playful curiosity in myself and others. I am not a professional artist, author or photographer. My content is, nevertheless, copyright protected.

Eventually. At the moment, I am restricted by a work visa that does not permit income from side hustles. I will get a shop up and running once my immigration status changes :)
